On Saturday, October 16, DC Comics and Warner Bros. presented their second annual Fandome, showcasing new trailers for upcoming films and shows like The Batman, The Flash, and Black Adam. We also got a glance at the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights game's plot trailers. Here's a rundown of some of the most important highlights.

Official First Look at Black Adam

Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, has been in development for years, but the long-awaited film is finally here, with a teaser trailer that features not just Johnson's character, but also other members of the Justice Society of America who will be making their debuts. This includes Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone. Johnson made an appearance at FanDome showing a clip from the film in which some soldiers struck Black Adam with an electric blast. In exchange, he disintegrates one of them, catches a bullet out of thin air, and then levitates away. On July 29th, 2022, the film Black Adam will be released in theaters.

Multiverse teaser of The Flash

Marvel isn’t alone anymore dabbling in the multiverse. The long-awaited The Flash gets a sneak peek at FanDome, bringing not only Ezra Miller's speedster hero but also the return of Michael Keaton's versions of Batman. The teaser features a glimpse of the unmistakable Batman cowl at the end in which many believe to be Ben Affleck cowl, with Keaton providing the voice-over. It will be released on November 4, 2022, in theaters.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Second Trailer

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was announced at last year's FanDome and is the first game from Rocksteady Studios, the team behind the beloved Batman: Arkham, in nearly six years, debuted a new trailer at this year's event. In 2022, the game will be released on Xbox One X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Beware the Court of Owls In Gotham Knights Story Trailer

While Rocksteady is busy working on the Suicide Squad game, Warner Bros. Games Montreal is continuing the Arkham-style adventures with Gotham Knights. The new trailer showcases The Penguin telling Nightwing the story of the mysterious cult, The Court of Owl, once thought of as merely an urban legend. When the game is released next year, players will be able to join forces as Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood in an open-world action RPG. The superhero game will be released next year 2022.

HBO Max new animated Batman: Caped Crusader

The new show comes from JJ. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm, and was announced earlier this year as a noir-ish "reimagining" of the character. The show's unusual art style was showcased in the first trailer, although Timm, who worked on Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, stated that the show will not be in black-and-white.

“My elevator pitch version of this show is that it’s more Batman: The Animated Series than Batman: The Animated Series,” he said. “In Bruce’s world, in this new iteration, it’s just Batman right now. The Justice League doesn’t exist, there aren’t any other superheroes. It’s Batman. You’re watching this lone figure swimming through the cesspool of Gotham. It’s Batman, alone.”

I’m Vengeance, Second Trailer for The Batman

Finally, we have a second trailer for The Batman (and FanDome saved the reveal for the very end of the day). In Matt Reeves' adaptation of the Dark Knight series, we didn't learn much more about the characters. However, the teaser revealed a Selina Kyle/Catwoman who appeared to be a master of disguises, as well as a Riddler who was far scarier than prior iterations. The Batman will be released in theaters on March 4th, 2022, after multiple pandemic-related delays.
