The event also aimed to raise awareness for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Though there were no announcements regarding the restoration of the SnyderVerse, the convention was a massive success. Fans from all over the world participated in the event, which featured panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and exclusive merchandise. The event also included screenings of Snyder's films and special appearances by some of the cast and crew. Overall, Snyder-Con 2023 was a great opportunity for fans to come together and show their support for Snyder's vision for the DC universe.

Here are just a few of the highlights from Snyder-Con 2023:

Ben Affleck Details The Batman’s Original Plans

During Zack Snyder’s Full Circle Justice League event, Ben Affleck, filmmaker and actor, revealed his initial plans for a Batman solo film, titled The Batman. The director had hoped to create more complex and nuanced characters, with Deathstroke being a potential villain. Affleck had been exploring a number of characters and felt that either a single, formidable villain or a group of Injustice villains could be used. Affleck stated that he had been trying to focus on Deathstroke and make him seem as impressive as possible. Although Deathstroke never appeared in the standalone Batman film, he was briefly seen in the post-credits scene of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, portrayed by Joe Manganiello.

Snyder Weighed in on the Batman and Joker Team-Up, in Knightmare Scene

Zack Snyder revealed some new information about the Knightmare scene from his 2021 director's cut of Justice League. The scene features a post-apocalyptic future where Darkseid rules Earth and Superman has gone mad after the death of Lois Lane. To defeat the Man of Steel, Batman teams up with several allies, including his infamous enemy, the Joker. Snyder explained that the Joker is the only one who knows where the Kryptonite shards are, which are needed to kill Superman. Batman strikes a deal with the Joker, promising not to kill him in exchange for the information. If he were to kill the Joker, Batman would be left without a way to fight Superman.

Zack Snyder Reveals What Happened to the SnyderVerse's Robin

New details have emerged about the fate of Robin in the SnyderVerse of the DCEU. Although the character never made an on-screen appearance in any of Zack Snyder's comic book movies, the tattered costume with the "R" on the front hinted at the Joker's involvement in his demise with spray painted phrase, "Ha ha ha, joke's on you Batman." in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to Snyder, the Joker "blew him up" after realizing that this was Batman's "real vulnerability." In this universe, the deceased Robin is the original Boy Wonder, Dick Grayson, which differs from the comics where the second Robin, Jason Todd, suffered a similar fate. Snyder was tight-lipped in revealing more details about the confrontation between the Joker and Grayson, in hopes of the chance to explore it on-screen and prevent spoilers.

JUSTICE LEAGUE 2 Would Have Shown The Other Side of Flash's Cameo in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

The visionary director revealed details about his unmade Justice League sequel during a Q&A session at SnyderCon. He shared that the film would have shown a different side to The Flash’s cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder explained that in the sequel, there would have been a scene where Flash goes back in time, and Batman warns him not to use a specific window that he had previously tried and failed to use. Snyder explained that it would have been fascinating to see this play out.

ZACK SNYDER is STILL INTERESTED and HASN’t MOVE ON, YET!

During SnyderCon 2023, director Zack Snyder revealed multiple times that he was still interested in completing his vision for the DCEU by directing Justice League Part 2 and Part 3. He also revealed that he hasn't moved on from DC yet, despite many claiming that he had. Snyder's comments have reignited hope among fans who have been campaigning for the restoration of his Snyderverse and are eager to see the continuation of this epic story arc. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's clear that Snyder still has a passion for the characters and the universe he helped create.
