In a recent interview with FilmJunkee, Zack Snyder thanked Warner Bros. executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy for approving the screening of Zack Snyder’s Justice League in IMAX for Snyder-Con 2. The convention is a special three-day event with proceeds going to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in honor of Snyder’s daughter Autumn, who passed away in 2017.

The event will span three days and showcase director's cut screenings of Snyder's films, followed by Q&As with Snyder and special guests. The featured movies are Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition, and Zack Snyder's Justice League. Both in-person and live-stream options will be available.

Snyder fans are hyped for the event, so much in fact, that tickets were sold out in less than 10 minutes of becoming available on Friday, March 24. Zack Snyder has been dropping photos, posters, and a drawing from Jim Lee with cryptic messages. Fans speculation is rampant with hopes of the SnyderVerse restored

This event would not be possible if it wasn’t for executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy as Snyder explains with FilmJunkee:

“The event would not have happened at all…if it wasn’t for Pam and Mike. Those are the guys who said, ‘Yes, we want to do it.’”

It is interesting that Snyder never thanked or mentioned current co-Heads of DC Studios Peter Safran or even James Gunn. Gunn, who is normally quite active on social media has been quite silent about the event and the low box office numbers of Shazam's sequel. When one of the hosts bought up Gunn, Snyder said they were buddies and worked on Dawn of the Dead together. ‘Update - James Gunn has said in a reply on Twitter he will be donating but will not be able to attend due to work on Guardians Vol. 3.’

In the same interview, Snyder was asked about the #SellSnyerVerseToNetflix and #SellZSJLToNetflix campaigns. The director stated, “The truth is, that would be amazing.” Unfortunately, Snyder went on the say that he didn’t know much about what was going on at DC Studios and that its “It’s above my pay grade.”

Fans of the SnyderVerse know the names Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy very well. De Luca was a runner-up as head of Dc movies and was going to produce with frequent Snyder collaborator Charles Roven on future DCEU movies. It was De Luca and Abdy, who agreed for Henry Cavill to return as Superman in the cameo in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam. The executives were working with Cavill to develop a sequel to Man of Steel and planned to bring back Zack Snyder and the original cast for Justice League 2.

However, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CEO David Zaslav chose James Gunn and Peter Safran as heads of DC Studios instead, and as their first act as heads fired Henry Cavill as Superman less than two months after announcing his return to the roles. With almost all other DCEU movies bombing at the box office and the backlash Gunn and Safran have received, it seems CEO Zaslav has made the wrong choice. Snyder fans can only wonder what could have been if Mike De Luca was Head of DC Studios.

Snyder-Con 2 will be held on April 28th, 29th, and 30th.
