Yesterday morning, Zack Snyder posted a cryptic message from Lord Darkseid, Ray Porter reprising the warlord’s voice from the Snyder Cut, on social media, shocking DC Comics fans as they awoke. Snyder fans arose from their beds to find a mysterious sign that said, "Incoming message from Lord Darkseid," along with computer-generated images of an odd sphere. Could this be SnyderCon, restoring the SnyderVerse, or finally the worldwide release of the Snyder Cut in theaters perhaps? Speculations are running wild. Fans of Zack Snyder's Justice League have had a difficult time as fewer films on the DC release calendar feature these stars from the previous DCEU period. Wonder Woman 3 by Patty Jenkins is in doubt. Rumors of Henry Cavill's Superman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman cameo were removed in The Flash movie. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom recently tested poorly with the audience.

Despite having a so-called "minority fanbase", Zack Snyder has consistently remained a prominent figure in the media. A banner for his vision and work with DC was recently flown above the Oscars by supporters. Before that, supporters of Snyder have and continue to call on Netflix to continue the SnyderVerse. It has been a long difficult road for Snyder fans, there hasn't been much positive news in a very long time. It would appear like there is no way for more from Snyder, but then this video appears and throws the fandom for a loop.

Today on Vero, the director's post reads, "Life is a cycle, from birth to death to rebirth. And so the hero's journey is a cycle as well. A continuous journey of growth and transformation." The post is companied by the same dates that appear in the video, along with an image of Henry Cavill's Superman.

What could this all mean? The most likely answer, it's a 3 days Watch Party event, covering all three of Zack Snyder’s DCEU movies, Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Though, even if it is only a Watch Party, this doesn’t mean, fans won’t get a big announcement like, the restoration of the SnyderVerse on Netflix or a special sneak peek of Snyder’s upcoming Sci-fi epic, Rebel Moon.

Ben Affleck confirms he isn’t interested in working on James Gunn’s DCU.

A while back, Ben Affleck was set to be a foundational piece of the DCEU, not only in the role of Batman but as a filmmaker as well. With the superhero's debut in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck was expected to helm a standalone Batman film. Due to personal reasons and the terrible experience Affleck and his fellow cast members had during the reshoots of Joss Whedon's Justice League, those plans, unfortunately, failed though. As a result, Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves took over DC's standalone Caped Crusader franchise, but Gunn's clean slate prompted rumors that Ben Affleck might direct The Brave and the Bold, the upcoming Bruce and Damian Wayne project for the DC Universe.

Affleck has officially denied the claims made in those rumors.

"I would not direct something for the [James] Gunn DC. Absolutely not," Affleck told The Hollywood Reporter. "I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he's going to do a great job. I just wouldn't want to go in and direct in the way they're doing that. I'm not interested in that.”

Three months ago, Gunn revealed that he had spoken with Affleck about helming a film in the revamped DC Universe. Both parties wanted Affleck to be the director, according to Gunn, but they needed to "find the right project." Affleck's comments show that, regardless of the character, his vision for a DC movie clashes with the tone and visuals that Gunn is establishing for this universe.
